Primary Care Physician in Richmond, TX
Lifecare Primary Medical provides personalized primary care for adults at our clinic on South Peek Road in Richmond, with preventive checkups, chronic condition care and same-day sick visits under one roof.

What a primary care physician does for you
A primary care physician (PCP) is the doctor you see first for most health needs and the one who knows your history over time. At Lifecare Primary Medical, adult patients see Samira Khan, MD, an internal medicine physician, and our care team for routine checkups, new symptoms, ongoing conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure, medication management and referrals when a specialist is needed.
Our clinic is located at 7103 South Peek Road, Suite 520, Richmond, TX 77407. We see patients from Richmond and nearby communities, including Aliana, Grand Mission, Mission Bend and Katy. Walk-ins and same-day visits are available during office hours.
What primary care includes
One clinic for most of your everyday health needs
Good primary care is part prevention, part problem-solving and part coordination. These are the main kinds of visits our patients schedule.
Preventive care and annual physicals
Yearly exams, blood pressure and weight checks, recommended lab work, age-appropriate cancer screening and a review of vaccines you may be due for.
Sick visits and new symptoms
Colds, flu-like illness, sinus and ear problems, sore throat, urinary symptoms, rashes, minor injuries and other concerns that need to be looked at soon.
Chronic condition care
Ongoing management of diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, thyroid problems and other long-term conditions, with regular follow-up and lab monitoring.
Medication review
A careful look at everything you take, including supplements, to check doses, interactions and whether each medicine is still the right fit.
Care coordination and referrals
When you need a cardiologist, endocrinologist or other specialist, we help arrange the referral and keep your records connected.
Women’s primary care
Preventive visits, screening discussions and everyday health concerns, with a female physician for patients who prefer one.
When to see your PCP
When should you see a primary care doctor?
Many people only call a doctor when something is wrong. A primary care relationship works best when you also come in while you feel well, so changes are easier to spot. It is a good time to book a visit if:
- It has been more than a year since your last checkup or blood work.
- You have a new symptom that has lasted more than a few days, or keeps coming back.
- Your home blood pressure or blood sugar readings are higher than usual.
- You were recently seen in an urgent care or emergency room and need follow-up.
- You started a new medication and have side effects or questions.
- You need a form completed, a referral or a prescription refill.
- You are new to the area and want to establish care with a local doctor.
If you are not sure whether something can wait, call our office at 281-712-7757 and our staff can help you decide on the right type of visit.

Meet your physician
Samira Khan, MD
Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician
Dr. Khan focuses on adult primary care, preventive health and the long-term management of conditions like hypertension and diabetes. She is affiliated with Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.
Patients often mention how carefully she listens. Her approach is to catch problems early, explain the options clearly and build a plan that fits your health and your daily life.
Our care team also includes physician assistants Tanveer Khan, MPAS, PA-C, and Sadaf Siddiqui, MPAS, PA-C, and family nurse practitioner Nettah Ndungu, FNP-C. Meet our providers.
Preventive care
Preventive care that fits your age and risk
Prevention is the part of primary care that is easiest to put off and the part that often matters most. At a preventive visit we review your personal and family history, check your blood pressure and weight, and talk through which screenings make sense for you.
Recommendations change with age, sex and risk factors. For example, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends blood pressure screening for all adults, colorectal cancer screening beginning at age 45, and screening mammograms every two years for women from 40 to 74. Adults 35 to 70 who have overweight or obesity are also advised to be screened for prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. Your physician will help you decide what is right for you rather than applying the same checklist to everyone.
We also review which vaccines are recommended for your age and health, based on the CDC adult immunization schedule.

Chronic conditions
Ongoing care for chronic conditions
Many adults live with one or more long-term conditions. High blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma, thyroid disease and kidney problems are common, and they often affect each other. Managing them well usually means regular visits, periodic lab tests and small adjustments over time rather than a single appointment.
At follow-up visits we review your readings and labs, check how your medications are working, look for early signs of complications and set realistic goals together. When a condition needs a specialist’s input, we coordinate that care and stay involved.
Related: diabetes care, high blood pressure treatment, asthma care and internal medicine.
Same-day care
Walk-ins and same-day sick visits
Illness rarely waits for a convenient appointment. Lifecare Primary Medical accepts walk-ins and same-day visits Monday through Friday during office hours, so you can be seen for problems like fever, cough, sore throat, sinus pressure, urinary symptoms or a new rash without waiting weeks. Calling ahead helps us plan for your visit and can shorten your wait.
Same-day visits are for non-emergency problems. If you have symptoms that could be life-threatening, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Read more about our walk-in and same-day visits.
Your visit
What to expect at your first appointment
Your first visit is mostly about getting to know you. Plan to arrive a few minutes early and bring:
- A photo ID and your insurance card.
- A list of your current medications and supplements, or the bottles themselves.
- Any recent lab results, imaging reports or hospital discharge papers.
- Names of other doctors or specialists you see.
- Your questions, written down so nothing gets missed.
Your physician will review your history, do an exam and talk through any concerns. If lab work is needed, we will explain what each test is for. You will leave with a clear plan and know when to come back.
Insurance
Coverage varies by plan. Please call 281-712-7757 before your visit so our staff can confirm your insurance.

Common questions
Primary care questions
What does a primary care physician treat?
A primary care physician handles preventive care, common illnesses, minor injuries and the long-term management of conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and asthma. When a problem needs a specialist, your PCP coordinates the referral.
Is an internal medicine doctor a primary care doctor?
Yes. Internal medicine physicians, or internists, are trained specifically in adult medicine and many serve as primary care doctors. They are especially well suited to adults with several health conditions. Learn more about internal medicine.
What is the difference between an internist and a family doctor?
Both provide primary care. Family medicine doctors care for patients of all ages, including children. Internists focus only on adults and receive in-depth training in adult conditions and chronic disease.
Do you accept walk-ins or same-day appointments?
Yes. We accept walk-ins and same-day visits Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Calling ahead at 281-712-7757 helps us prepare for your visit.
When should I establish care with a PCP?
The best time is before you need one. Establishing care while you are well gives your doctor a baseline, makes it easier to spot changes and means you already have a doctor to call when you get sick.
Do you see adults with more than one chronic condition?
Yes. Managing several conditions together, along with the medications for each, is a core part of what we do.
