Allergy Evaluation & Treatment in Richmond, TX
Relief for seasonal and year-round allergies in adults: finding your triggers, choosing the right treatment and knowing when a specialist can help.

How we help with allergies
Allergies happen when the immune system overreacts to something that is usually harmless, such as pollen, dust mites, mold or pet dander. In the Houston area, long growing seasons mean many people deal with symptoms for much of the year.
At Lifecare Primary Medical in Richmond, Samira Khan, MD, and our care team evaluate allergy symptoms, look for triggers, recommend treatment and follow up to make sure it is working. Our clinic is at 7103 South Peek Road, Suite 520, Richmond, TX 77407.
Symptoms
Common allergy symptoms
- Sneezing, runny or stuffy nose.
- Itchy, watery or red eyes.
- Itchy nose, throat or ears.
- Post-nasal drip and cough.
- Hives or itchy skin rashes.
- Worsening asthma symptoms.
Allergies, colds and sinus infections can look alike. Allergy symptoms tend to last as long as you are exposed to the trigger and often include itching, while colds usually clear in about a week to ten days. Read more in our article on allergies vs. sinus infection vs. cold.
Evaluation
Finding out what you are allergic to
Your visit starts with a detailed history: when symptoms happen, where you are, what seems to set them off and what you have already tried. A physical exam looks at your nose, eyes, throat, lungs and skin. If allergy testing would help confirm your triggers or guide treatment, we will discuss the options with you and arrange it.

Common questions
Allergy questions
Can a primary care doctor treat allergies?
Yes. Most seasonal and indoor allergies are evaluated and treated in primary care, with referral to an allergist when needed.
Is it allergies or a cold?
Itching and symptoms that last as long as you are exposed point toward allergies. Fever and body aches suggest an infection. If you are not sure, a visit can help sort it out.
Do you offer allergy testing?
If testing would help, we will discuss the options and arrange it. Call our office at 281-712-7757 for details.
Can allergies make asthma worse?
Yes. Allergens are a common asthma trigger, so we look at both together.
