How primary care helps with pain

Most back pain, joint pain and muscle strains are first evaluated in primary care. At Lifecare Primary Medical in Richmond, our team looks for the cause of your pain, recommends treatment, and coordinates physical therapy, imaging or specialist care when it is needed. We provide pain care within primary care; we are not a dedicated pain-management or orthopedic practice.

Our clinic is at 7103 South Peek Road, Suite 520, Richmond, TX 77407.

Evaluation

How we find the cause

Your provider will ask when the pain started, what makes it better or worse, and how it affects your day, then examine the area. Depending on the findings, we may recommend lab work or imaging such as X-rays. Many causes of back and joint pain improve with time and the right self-care, so we focus first on safe, effective steps and reserve tests for when they will change your treatment.

Common questions

Pain care questions

Is Lifecare Primary Medical a pain management clinic?

No. We evaluate and treat common pain as part of primary care and refer to pain specialists, orthopedics or other specialists when needed.

Do I need an X-ray for back pain?

Often not at first. Most back pain improves within a few weeks. We recommend imaging when your symptoms or exam suggest it would change your treatment.

Can you refer me to physical therapy?

Yes. Physical therapy is often one of the most helpful treatments for back and joint pain.

Can I be seen the same day for a new injury?

Yes, for minor injuries we accept walk-ins Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Serious injuries need emergency care.
